On  August 10, 2023 at Ore Central Building, BGC, Taguig City was the signing of the  Memorandum of Agreement between InfiniVAN Inc. and Philippine Cable Telecommunications Association – Internet Exchange (PCTA-PIXI). The event was attended by executives from the two companies with the purpose of the signing for connectivity provisioning partnership. A memorandum of understanding had already taken place at the Nex Tower, Makati City Office of InfiniVAN Inc. last July 14, 2023.

InfiniVAN Inc. continues to expand its clientele by partnering with PIXI for another milestone in its venture for network expansion nationwide. With the prior Philippine Domestic Submarine Cable Network (PDSCN) project that has been the biggest project of InfiniVAN to date, this new partnership will help kickoff InfiniVAN’s vision in bringing international-grade internet connectivity to the remote areas of the Philippines.

“PDSCN can be used as an access for remote cable operators to design and build a new network outside Metro Manila and bring the PCTA Internet Exchange from Manila,” said IPS Chairman Koji Miyashita when asked about the next steps for this partnership. He also added that, “By having this relationship, I hope that it will empower the customers. The advantage with local TV operators is that they’re close to local customers. We’ll try to tie up with them using our facilities so that they can compete with other telcos.”

Cedric Sazon, President of PIXI, also says, “We believe that we have the best synergy with InfiniVAN because at present, as cable operators with internet, we already have our subscribers so it’s a matter of growing our customers. With this, we can grow the industry including the small operators. We believe that this partnership will grow because there is a successful model from Japan and our members are already prepared. We already have officers coming from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao already working on the marketing and phase by phase expansion on the market.”

With the goal to provide cheaper but international and high-grade internet connection to the Philippine islands, this partnership will truly prove to be a successful big leap in the future that will not only help businesses, but also the smaller divisions located in more remote areas.
