A Women’s Month Feature Story
Before the titles, before the leadership role, there was only grit.
Lanie Germentil’s story begins in a home where resources were limited and financial stability was never guaranteed. Opportunities did not come easily—they were chased, taken, and fought for. Yet in the midst of uncertainty, one thing remained constant: the values her family instilled in her.
“We were raised to be hardworking and resilient, values that shaped who I am today. Everything I have achieved is rooted in the support and sacrifices of my family.”
Those early lessons became her foundation.
Fresh out of college, Lanie began working not with prestige but with humility—a mere assistant in a manufacturing company that taught her the basic foundation of work: grit.
As the years passed, and with the lessons she acquired from her former companies, she found her way to InfiniVAN Inc. as Head of Procurement. For her, it was a breakthrough—but not the peak.
In time, she rose even higher.
She was later promoted to Chief of the Procurement Department—one of the only few women holding an executive role, a position not given by superiority but earned through hard work.
In an interview, she shared how being an executive puts pressure on her to perform at her best.
“Pressure is a constant part of being in an executive role. The responsibility, expectations, and the need to make critical decisions can sometimes feel overwhelming. However, I’ve learned to manage it by staying focused on what truly matters—our goals, our people, and our values.”
The Procurement Department is responsible for the strategic sourcing, acquisition, and distribution of goods and services. It means managing multiple clients, meeting demands, and reporting to different leaders—all at once. At times, the pressure piles up, testing both her limits and resolve.
Still, she reminds herself that pressure is not always negative—it can drive growth and better decision-making.
She manages it by maintaining clarity, prioritizing effectively, and knowing when to pause and reflect. Taking a step back helps her regain perspective and move forward with confidence and purpose.
Multiple Roles
Outside the office, she holds a very important title—a mother.
Raising an 18-year-old boy who is discovering and exploring life can be demanding, especially alongside a full-time career. Yet, she embraces this as part of motherhood and discipline. There are days when deadlines and demands become overwhelming, yet she begins her day not with meetings and a list of tasks, but with time focused on her most loved one.
For others, it is a simple routine, but for her, it is where she finds balance. In those early hours, she remains present—a mother who takes part in her child’s stage of discovery and growth.
It is, in her words, the part of her day she loves the most.
InfiniVAN Inc.: A Woman-Friendly Workplace
Lanie found more than just a career in InfiniVAN Inc.—she found a workplace that supports women’s empowerment and nurtures and recognizes women’s capabilities. For five years in a male-dominated industry, she has never felt left out.
While she admits it is not always perfect, it is within those imperfections that stability is tested.
“My journey has been both challenging and rewarding. While my detail-oriented and complex approach may not always be immediately understood, it has proven to be a strength. I value being part of a workplace that continues to move toward gender equality, where inclusivity is embraced and discrimination has no place, regardless of industry or background.”
Empowerment in Spaces
What is integrity?
This is a question she often asks her colleagues—a reminder of who they are even when no one is watching. Because for Lanie, true success was never about recognition—it was about showing up, doing the work, and delivering even in silence.
This is what she hopes to impart, especially to women in the workplace: that the purpose of showing up and moving forward allows women to continue striving and thriving despite challenges.
“Stay grounded and patient with your journey. Progress takes time. No matter how challenging it gets, remember that our uniqueness as women is our strength—it’s what sets us apart in any industry. Always believe that we play a vital role in shaping and building the future.”
From bottom to top, Lanie’s story was never about taking advantage of shortcuts.
It was about crawling and climbing—piecemeal, challenge by challenge, even when confronted with pressure—armed with nothing but consistency, hard work, and the strength of a woman, a mother, and a colleague who refused to stop.
Her story is a testament that every woman matters in the industry—a story of how grit and consistency can bring you to places you never imagined.
This Women’s Month, we celebrate not only successful leaders but every individual striving to have a role in society. Cheers to all women.
